This trailer was made for the contributors to Winter Frights. It’s not the official book trailer. At least three of the contributors thought it was funny. The other nine didn’t seem as impressed.

Orhpeus and the Pearl Back In Stock @ The Horror Mall
May 20, 2008
Orpheus and The Pearl by Kim Paffenroth is back in stock at The Horror Mall.
“With Orpheus and the Pearl, Kim Paffenroth has stepped up to the plate left vacant by the late Ray Russell and hit one out of the park. Every element one expects to find in a traditional ‘gothic’ tale is present, but shown from a parallax view, keeping the reader guessing and anxious all the way to its surprisingly moving finale.”
–Gary A. Braunbeck, Bram Stoker Award Winning author of Coffin County and Mr. Hands.
“Kim Paffenroth is a breath of fresh air in modern horror. Orpheus and the Pearl is truly chilling, and I thank [Paffenroth] for reclaiming the great Gothic tradition. There are no cheap scares here, no blood and guts spilled for gore’s sake. This is terror at its best. Like Jean Rhys’ landmark novel Wide Sargasso Sea, Paffenroth’s tale reaches into the dark places to show us just how high of a price we have to pay to rescue the madwoman in the attic.”
–Joe McKinney, author of Dead City

Site Updates
May 18, 2008I’m in the process of switching hosts and altering the format of the site. I thought being part of a tech savvy generation meant I was born tech savvy. Turns out that’s not necessarily true.
One problem is that I’m not able to sell books through this site yet. Fear not! Buy our titles at The Horror Mall and Amazon. (Choose The Horror Mall.) I should have it fixed up so that you can order through the site again soon.
Much of this is temporary, so be sure to stay tuned. As I said in an earlier post, I am the master of outdoing myself.
I have exciting official announcements to make as soon as I resolve all the issues with the site.
Also, I’m going to make certain that this is the best temporary site ever, so that you may be temporarily entertained while I create something less temporary.

The Official Magus Press Website!
May 16, 2008Welcome to The Official Magus Press Website! It’s new, improved, and easier to use. It is also much easier for me to update. I don’t know why I didn’t do it like this sooner.
Keep coming back. After all, I am the master of outdoing myself. I beat up yester-me everyday.
What I’m most excited about: You’ll be able to comment! I can hear your feedback!
